Mindgruve is Hiring: Full-Time Account Director

Mindgruve is a leading digital media agency located in downtown San Diego in a loft-style, open workspace environment that promotes new ideas and empowers its employees to spearhead innovative, quality work that gets results for clients.

We are seeking an Account Director to maintain, strengthen and grow client relationships through comprehensive oversight and management of all accounts. He or she will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of all internal teams to effectively develop contracted deliverables and exceed client expectations. He or she will also oversee client relationships and be responsible for account growth, recommending staffing, client satisfaction and prioritization of client and project workflow, while ensuring that quality of all work meets agency and client standards.

This position will work in conjunction with all department heads to play an important role in developing and leading initiatives to improve processes, provide mentoring and/or training to junior level staff, and drive company efforts to stay ahead of industry benchmarks. This position is expected to write detailed proposals as well as meet and manage budgets, and take a leadership role in presentations and meetings.

We want someone who takes challenges head-on, receives constructive criticism well and upholds our creative and quality standards at all times. And, if you want to work with us, it’s critical that you stay ahead of digital industry trends and integrate them into agency protocol as necessary.

We need a person with:

  • 7+ years of advertising or digital media experience
  • Meticulous organization skills
  • Experience in Workamajig or other time/project management programs
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with various digital technologies/applications
  • Familiarity with iWorks package
  • Familiarity with creative and strategic process, web development life cycles, social media, email marketing and online campaigns
  • Experience writing proposals, estimates, RFPs, and scope of work documents
  • SCRUM training experience preferred

Sales

  • Works effectively with business development efforts to scope and formalize proposals for new clients or new projects
  • Accurately gathers technical and marketing requirements to establish timelines and estimates
  • Experience developing pitch strategies, sales presentations, and playing an active and valuable role during the pitch process

Agency

  • Develops and monitors internal workflows to improve efficiency while maintaing high-quality deliverables
  • Demonstrates an interest and awareness of trends and best practices as related to the internet and marketing
  • Represents Mindgruve at industry conferences, gatherings and events
  • Oversees day-to-day tasks and management of the entire account team

Projects

  • Provides clear and detailed communication, both written and verbal, for clients, vendors, contractors and internal teams
  • Facilitates and is accountable for client projects with special attention to profitability, tracking and management of resource consumption
  • Assists the creative and development teams by clearly outlining client needs and goals through the use of project briefs
  • Assists account managers on accounts by providing mentoring, training and best practices recommendations

Clients

  • Proactively identifies project risks and creates mitigation strategies
  • Acts as the primary point of contact at Mindgruve for all clients
  • Educates clients on new techniques, strategies and opportunities to improve their marketing
  • Stands behind and helps present company work in client meetings
  • Discusses client changes/requests with internal team before promising action
